Filming Blog
On Tuesday, my group and I filmed the last couple of shots for our commercial. The clips we needed to film involved a soccer ball. This was our second day of shooting for our commercial, I, as the Fillmer, had made sure that everyone brought the same attire to wear so that our commercial did not look choppy. At first, I, the filmer, laid on the ground to get a good low-angle shot of an actor, wearing Adidas brand sportswear. This actor had her foot resting on the soccer ball, getting ready to win the game. We had taken many recordings of this clip to make sure that the camera was focused and steady. From then, in that same position filmed another actor trailing the first actor trying to obtain the soccer ball, to win the game. This clip had also taken a good amount of time to film, so we were able to make sure that the scene looked realistic as if they were playing a real game. I then stood up and filmed both actors playing a game of soccer. This shot involved the actor, who was wearing the Adidas merchandise, winning the 1 V 1 soccer game, and the other player tripping and falling on the floor. This was the most complex shot we had taken for our commercial. It involved multiple factors to connect our whole commercial together so that we were able to complete the meaning of the Adidas slogan. In this shot, both actors were running to score a point in the soccer game. While they were running, they were kicking the ball around with them and from there a player was tripped, which resulted in the actor wearing Adidas merchandise to succeed and win the game. After filming these scenes, as a group, we all sat down and reviewed our clips that I had filmed on my iPhone. At first, we had made sure that all the shots we had filmed were shown on our storyboard, and made sure that we didn't forget any Thought that we had drawn for a storyboard. We picked out certain shots that had stood out, in a good way, opposed to the others.
