CCR Media

Hello, this is my CCR which is counted as my Midterm grade for AICE Media Studies. This filming experience will be memorable and I am so thankful that I am enrolled in this course.

My Music Video

This music video was such a great experience! I enjoyed the process of creating the idea for the music video and then pursuing that idea. It was so fun to film the select scenes we had drew for the storyboard. I really felt like my idea was being brought to life. As I edited clips, it was so cool to see how our music video was all coming together, since it looked so professional. I also enjoyed working with my group for this project because i loved the feeling of being part of a team. Throughout my music video, I learned so much about my group members. This project had taught me how important it is to blog your process. When I had read my blogs after finishing the music video, I had forgot how much work we actually did and it was great to read how many ideas we had before going into this. I did theater for 3 years, so my ability to act and direct really helped during this process. All in all, this was a great project and experience that will help me with future filming projects.

Polishing the Video

Today my group and I resumed editing the music video! Firstly, I had taken out all my research that i had wrote down to help for certain scenes of the video. Then, I opened the app, IMovie, which is the media platform I am using to edit my music video. All of my last work from yesterday had saved, so all I had to do was put the final touches on. The first problem I ran into was editing the fourth scene, which was the three way split screen, since my past research had a flaw. My flaw was how for the split screen, the screens were not even. Two of the screens were bigger than one. After playing with it for a while, nothing could fix it, so what I did was made one of my group members screen bigger, since they were the main character in the video. Next, I had trouble with the eighth scene. The music and my actor’s lip singing didn’t match up. To fix this problem, I had to cut scenes that came before this scene to match the lip singing to the music. Lastly, I had to edit the last scene to

The Editing Process

Today   was my first day of editing my music video. I started by downloading my editing app on my phone, which was IMovie. The location that I was in didn’t get any reception, so I had to leave to a different location to download it. After it was downloaded, I went back to my group and then I started researching. At first I researched how to make a three way split screen, since that is what appeared in my storyboard. After a while of researching, I finally found a website that had included steps and a video. The video was really necessary for me, since it was easier to follow. This was my second time using IMovie, so I was a little more experienced than other members in my group. At first, I added all shots my group and I had filmed into the media platform. Then, I went through each individual video and narrowed down which were the better shots for the music video. This process was really hard because I wanted to make sure that the best shots were used to give the music video the

Another Day at Filming

Image
Today, my group and I met up again a t  the same location to continue filming.  Again, we all got dressed in our costumes, however we couldn’t find one of my actor’s  costume .  After searching for a  while,  I finally found it ,   left   in the guest bathroom. Then after we all got re-dressed,   I started exactly where I left off by filming for th e next scene.  I put my actor, Katie, in the same location,  in front  of the front door.  I filmed her using a close-up shot and zoomed into her head to show what she was thinking of in her head. After filming,  I  used a male classmate as an actor  for our music video.  He didn’t bring any dress clothes, so  I  used Katie’s closet  to try and pull his outfit together. The best  I could pull together as a costume was men's jeans and a woman’s blazer.  He looked a little silly, but he agreed  to be filmed in the video. I filmed two actors using a spin-shot as the actors were  standing   back-to-back. After a few shots,  I had  realized

Exciting Day on the Set

Today, my group and I started to film for our music video. From school, I met up with my group members and traveled to a group member's house, to use as the set. We first started getting undressed from our school clothes into our party clothes, as written on our storyboard. Katie, Jade, and I brought dresses and heels to wear for the video. After we were changed we began filming! I had to start acting and pretend that I was putting on makeup in-front of a vanity for this scene. After my scene, I became the filmer for the next few scenes. I filmed other group members, such as Katie and Jade "getting ready" for the party. Jade however had already put on her outfit, so I had to put a hoodie over her dress to make it look like she wasn't changed for the video. After the first three scenes were filmed, off camera, I put on bright eye shadow, as well as my other group members, to show more of a party look. Then, I transfered locations to the front yard. It took a while
