Production Blog: That is a Wrap
Today was my final day of filming for my film. My group and I met at the same location, where I had been meeting previously, which was my partner's house. However, instead of driving a car to the location, I had everyone bring a bicycle, in order to get to the filming location since there was no parent available to drive me. First, I went inside my partner's house to help pick out costumes for my actors. These actors were played by two teenage girls, so I decided to dress them both in short shorts. For the top of the costume, I dressed Ashley in a dark long-sleeve shirt, to show the darkness that will come in her future. For Ashley's best friend, I had brought a vibrant blue tank. My group and I went outside and started to pump all of the bike tires so that we were able to make it safely and efficiently to the site. Before we left, my bike fell on top of my group members' bikes. Halfway there, my handlebars attached to my bike started to get really loose, which made me unable to ride it. I had to turn around, along with my group members, to get a wrench to tighten my handlebars. Once I made it to the original location, I had my partner fix my bike since he is very handy with tools. I started to bike back to the first filming location. My partner and I discussed who would film the scene on the ride to the park, where I had decided to let him film the scene. Once I arrived, I found a swing set and thought that would be the perfect spot to film, since it matched the storyboard. I helped my partner hold the camera at an eye-level angle. As the scene was being filmed, I decided to keep the entire shot at an eye-level angle, opposed to zooming in on the actor who is talking since it would create a real-world effect. Once this was complete, I biked back to the original location to film a few more shots of the main character, Ashley, putting on makeup for her date. I filmed these shots at eye-level angles, to create a real-world effect. After filming the last scene for my film, I celebrated with my group and then left to go home.
